This unit aims to complement students' skills in the area of quantitative methods of data analysis, in particular the treatment of several different variables simultaneously.
After these classes the student should be able to:
Know the main methods used in the exploratory multivariate data analysis context and use themaccording to purpose of the research and the type of available features;
Create and interpret perceptual maps for positioning objects;
Group and characterize sets of features or instances; establish and test functional relationships between features.
Students are intended to acquire the following competencies:
meet the various techniques used in the exploratory analysis of multivariate data, according to the objective of the investigation and the type of variables involved;
create and interpret perceptual maps of object positioning;
can group and characterize sets of variables or cases;
establish and test functional relationships between variables.
