This curricular unit promotes a theoretical-practical approach to various aspects of the Portuguese language with the aim of improving students' linguistic skills, particularly in the field of written expression: it is intended that they produce correct, coherent, clear and effective texts. In this sense, some of the most commonly observed writing problems will be addressed, in conjunction with a reflection on the linguistic-discursive characteristics of the textual records that a student in the field of Communication must master. Students should consolidate their critical and reflective awareness of the different levels on which the production of a text is based: grammatical correction, vocabulary property, sentence architecture, textual coherence and cohesion, planning and structuring of discourse.
