The curricular unit addresses the strategic role of communication in the health sector, contextualizing the characteristics and specificities of this sector, such as the existing legal restrictions; studying the main concepts associated with health, and reflecting on the constant and profound changes that occur in the National Health System.
It will also address, on the one hand, the contribution of communication, through health promotion and disease prevention, to a change in behaviors (such as the adoption of healthy lifestyles), and on the other hand, the relationship between communication and health literacy.
This curricular unit also reflects on the role of different audiences in strategic planning of communication, using guest lectures, and presents case studies that exemplify the new trends of communication in the health sector.
