Objectives
a) Get an overview of the major contemporary political doctrines from the eighteenth century to the twentieth century.
b) Critically analyze the route of the main currents of contemporary political thought bearing in mind that the history of ideas should be the history of the uses to which ideas are subject to.
c) Identify the different uses of liberal ideas, socialists and nationalists within diverse historical contexts.
d) to acquire skills to deepen the themes addressed.
e) to promote the interest in questioning the past, developing a critical attitude against monocausal and deterministic explanations, warning for the lack of timeless concepts
